About us

Our project is dedicated to conserving the natural beauty of the Pungwe Gorge and protecting the resources that sustain both people and wildlife. We believe that the magnificent montane forest, which safeguards water sources for irrigation and powers local hydro stations, must be preserved for future generations. Unfortunately, this vital ecosystem has been under serious threat from human activities such as poaching and deforestation.

To address this, we focus on building local awareness of the value of natural resources through sustainable tourism and conservation initiatives. By highlighting the connection between the environment, agriculture, and livelihoods, we encourage communities to become active stewards of their surroundings.

Importantly, our project is designed to ensure that the community benefits directly and indirectly from conservation activities. We have committed that 20% of project income, after operational costs, will go directly to community-led projects, chosen by the community itself.

Together, we aim to create a balance where nature thrives, people prosper, and Pungwe Gorge remains a place of beauty and abundance.
